Surprise surprise...

...Interpol's next single will be "Evil." Like we didn't see that one coming. It's the best track on the album.

Save the dates for Coachella 2005 - solid line-up!

It's never too early for the rumors of who will be playing at the best US music festival COACHELLA. I've been to it for past 3 years. This upcoming one sounds like it will be amazing!

BRAVE BOB Nov 30 2004

SCOTS rockers Franz Ferdinand were forced to perform without their bassist after he was rushed to hospital in agony.

The Mercury Music Prize winners were touring Japan when Bob Hardy took ill with a stomach bug on Friday.

Being the trouper that he is, Bob soldiered on and performed Friday and Saturday's gigs, but by Sunday he was too ill to continue. A band insider told 3am: "On Saturday he was in considerable pain and performed most of the concert seated. The next day he was taken to hospital in Osaka and then transferred to a facility in Tokyo."

The rest of the band - Alex Kapranos, Nick McCarthy and Paul Thomson - carried on with a show at the Nagoya Diamond Hall with support act The Beat Up's guitarist Dino standing in. A spokesman for the boys said: "Bob's doing a lot better now, although we were worried at the time. He was diagnosed with a severe case of gastro-enteritis."

Last night he was due back on stage, and he'll then go back to hospital for more tests. The spokesman added: "Unfortunately Bob will miss the first two dates of the US tour. But he'll be back with the guys after that."They've been working so hard this year and travelling all over the place, so it's not surprising they can get run down."

Sounds to us as if he just needed a few days of pampering!

Glamour Women of the Year Awards were last night in NYC

Check out the photos from the red carpet from the Glamour Women of the Year Awards that I worked at last night. It happened at the Museum of Natural History. I got to be an escort for Jon Stewart - taking him to his seat, the stage, the press room, etc which was a big highlight for me - I have been a fan of his since his MTV talk show days in the early 90's! And I stood close to Tom Hanks, Kelly Ripa, Susan Sarandon, Ethan Hawke, Pierce Bronson, Alicia Keys, and the author Judy Blume. It was quite a night.

My friends Shirley & Thom got married! This is the write up from HITS magazine (a music trade mag).

WEDDING BELL BLISS: A hearty mazel tov to Us Weekly Music Editor Shirley Halperin and Pernice Brothers producer/member Thom Monahan, who were married Oct. 24 at N.Y.C.’s Bryant Park Grill. Candy Butchers' Mike Viola played the processional ("Cavatina," the theme from The Deer Hunter) and the reception (Beatles songs on acoustic guitar, accompanied by Shirl’s brother, Capitol Years’ Shai Halperin, on harmonies). The happy couple will relocate to L.A. before the end of the year. Among the guests on hand to toast the newlyweds were Guster’s Ryan Miller, WB PR doyenne Liz Rosenberg, Rolling Stone’s Joe Levy, Austin Scaggs and Jenny Eliscu, High Times’ Steve Bloom and Us Weekly’s Janice Min, Lori Majewski and new Entertainment Weekly Sr. Editor Jeremy Helligar. The wedding favor was a pair of guitar picks enscribed "Thom picks Shirley" and "Shirley picks Thom." And it merited a story about how they met on the N.Y. Times fashion and style page.

My halloween costume got mentioned in the Village Voice!

This is the blurb:

House parties, however, are more fun than any club, especially when the party includes a fake CARLOS D. (a woman, too) dressed in the red shirt, black tie, and gun holster; a faux AXL ROSE; and a fantastically accurate PAT BENATAR circa "Love Is a Battlefield," with the torn whore dress. There was a BLACK-EYED PEA (a man with a black eye and a black shirt with a giant letter P written on it), and a friend dressed as TERESA HEINZ KERRY (business suit, lots of huge $100 bills), handing out packets of Heinz ketchup. The hostess was dressed as BRITNEY SPEARS's new 'ho—um, husband—KEVIN FEDERLINE, wearing a wife beater, baggy pants, a goatee, and a trucker hat, and performing bad '80s dance moves for authenticity. She reasoned that if any part of her goatee came off, she could easily turn her outfit into JD of LE TIGRE, and just keep the mustache. It was the ultimate scary hipster outfit. She wins.

RIP John Peel - Snow Patrol did an acoustic cover of his all time favorite song "Teenage Kicks" by the Undertones

I've been there for a magazine party and a music video...it's swank and just down the street from my office...

Is Tommy Hilfiger looking for a new home? He expressed interest in the nearly $20 million "Sky Studios," a triplex penthouse at 704 Broadway, which he toured a week and a half ago.

If Hilfiger bites, then he'll be neighbors with the current owner, Israeli investor Jonathan Leitersdorf, as well as computer mogul Michael Dell and reclusive child star Macaulay Culkin.

The 5,200-square-foot apartment is famous for being featured in "Sex and the City" and hosting events like Jerry Seinfeld's wedding and Stella McCartney's party during Fashion Week. It boasts a several roof terraces, 20-foot ceilings, a lawn and a 25-foot heated pool with sweeping views of New York City.

A young German couple is also reportedly interested in buying the triplex - previously passed over by Billy Joel, P. Diddy and Jay-Z - as a business investment. Broker Michael Shvo has the exclusive listing with his brand-new firm, the Shvo Group.
